Softball Recap: Jonathan Alder Comes Up Short

Jonathan Alder was the 9-2 winner over Bellefontaine when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneers fell 12-7 to the Chieftains on Monday. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riley Magginis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kylie Petersheim, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Jonathan Alder now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bellefontaine, they moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Jonathan Alder had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
