Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds vs. Cottage Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Cottage Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Cottage will be coming in after a defeat.

Notre Dame Academy took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 60-20 win over Praise Academy. The Irish Wolfhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 33 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jazlynn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 boards. The game was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Amadi, who posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, Cottage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Covenant Christian Academy, falling 33-12. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Notre Dame Academy will need focus on slowing down Grace Workman, one of several Cottage players who made an impact when they last played. She had two points and five steals. Workman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Pressnall, who posted four points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Notre Dame Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Cottage, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
