Soccer Recap: LaFayette Takes a Loss

LaFayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Gilmer Bobcats, falling 6-2. LaFayette were not able to make up for their defeat to Gilmer from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Cora Lanier and Channing Johnson scored both of LaFayette's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

LaFayette's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Gilmer, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaFayette will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 p.m. on April 10. As for Gilmer, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Chestatee at 5:30 p.m.
