Baseball Recap: Von Steuben Finds Home Field Redemption Against Jones

There's no place like home for Von Steuben, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past the Jones Eagles 2-1. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aiden Rodriguez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Von Steuben is 2-0-1 when Rodriguez allows one or fewer hits, but 7-8-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Von Steuben saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayin Timble, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Timble has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another was Matteo Banuelos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Von Steuben now has a winning record of 9-8-2. As for Jones, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
