Basketball Game Preview: Yellow Springs Bulldogs vs. West Jefferson Roughriders

Having just played yesterday, the Yellow Springs Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the West Jefferson Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Yellow Springs is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since January 9, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Middletown Christian out 47-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, West Jefferson got the win against Triad on Friday by a conclusive 60-37. The Roughriders pushed the score to 46-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals cut but never quite recovered from.

Yellow Springs better keep an eye on Austin Buescher. He was instrumental in West Jefferson's win, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Romans, who posted seven points along with six assists and three steals.

West Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Yellow Springs pushed their record up to 4-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for West Jefferson, their record now sits at 7-8.

Things could have been worse for Yellow Springs, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to West Jefferson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Yellow Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
