Baseball Recap: Oshkosh North Comes Up Short

Oshkosh North extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-4 in the process. They came up short against the Fond du Lac Cardinals, falling 12-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

As for Fond du Lac, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. The game marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

For Fond du Lac's part, Oshkosh North's batters probably weren't too happy with Bryson Patton, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up two walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Greyson Wenger, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Sam Amadon, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oshkosh North will head out to challenge Waupun at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fond du Lac, they will challenge Lomira at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 4, the Lions 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
