Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Flyers vs. St. Francis Episcopal Wolves

The St. Joseph Flyers will square off against the St. Francis Episcopal Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

St. Joseph took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lytle 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flyers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aiden Aragon and Zach Adams did most of the damage at the plate: Aragon scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Adams scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance gave Aragon a new career-high in runs.

While St. Francis Episcopal didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Logos Prep Academy a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

St. Francis Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 6-3.
