Softball Recap: Marcos de Niza Takes a Loss

Marcos de Niza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cactus Shadows Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 last Tuesday.

Marcos de Niza saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Tavena, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Marcos de Niza's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cactus Shadows, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Marcos de Niza will take on Saguaro at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cactus Shadows, they will host St. Mary's at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
