Cathedral Academy piles up the points against Dorchester Academy

Recap: Cathedral Academy Generals vs. Dorchester Academy Raiders

The Cathedral Academy Generals stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dorchester Academy 74-40 on the road. Given Cathedral Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Dorchester Academy is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Cathedral Academy to victory were Ajani Gresham and Bryce Ward. Gresham scored 25 points along with eight rebounds, while Ward scored 26 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Simmons, who scored six points along with two steals.

Cathedral Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Dorchester Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Cathedral Academy will head out on the road to challenge St. John's Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cathedral Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Dorchester Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clarendon Hall at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Dorchester Academy is facing Clarendon Hall at the right time seeing as Clarendon Hall is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
