Volleyball Game Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Winona Wildcats

Quitman is a perfect 9-0 against Winona since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Winona is facing Quitman at the wrong time: Quitman suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of Eustace by a score of 3-2.

Quitman wouldn't go down easily and took Eustace into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 16-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Winona came up short against Mineola on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-10.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Quitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.

Quitman took their victory against Winona in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
