Baseball Recap: Lloyd Memorial Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lloyd Memorial's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Juggernauts in their meetings with the Thoroughbreds: they've now lost four in a row.

Lloyd Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Newport Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lloyd Memorial will challenge Villa Madonna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Juggernauts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Newport Central Catholic, they will square off against St. Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
