Basketball Recap: David Thibodaux Comes Up Short

David Thibodaux lost against Zachary back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The David Thibodaux Bulldogs took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zachary Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Broncos are ranked third).

Zachary found their leader in sophomore Ian Edmond, who went 11 for 17 on his way to 27 points and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edmond has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Ferguson, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

David Thibodaux's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Zachary, their record now sits at 20-3.

David Thibodaux has already played their next matchup (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Zachary wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-50 victory against Parkview Baptist on the 25th.
