Basketball Game Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders vs. Blanche Ely Tigers

St. Thomas Aquinas is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Blanche Ely is on a eight-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will welcome the Blanche Ely Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Thomas Aquinas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Blanche Ely entered their match against Westminster Academy on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Blanche Ely received a blow as they fell 51-32 to Westminster Academy. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Lions are ranked 12th).

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Blanche Ely, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.

St. Thomas Aquinas was able to grind out a solid win over Blanche Ely in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 55-47. Will St. Thomas Aquinas repeat their success, or does Blanche Ely have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
