Volleyball Recap: Pettus Takes a Loss

Pettus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Woodsboro. If Pettus was looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to Woodsboro when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pettus wouldn't go down easily and took Woodsboro into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 19-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Pettus' loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Woodsboro, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pettus will challenge Nordheim at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodsboro, they will welcome Refugio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
