Basketball Game Preview: Palo Verde Panthers vs. Canyon Springs Pioneers

The Palo Verde Panthers will head out to face off against the Canyon Springs Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Palo Verde lost to Rancho on the road by a 61-46 margin. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canyon Springs). They claimed a resounding 103-53 victory over Pinecrest Academy Cadence. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Pioneers with their most commanding win of the season.

Palo Verde's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Canyon Springs, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.

Palo Verde couldn't quite finish off Canyon Springs in their previous meeting back in January and fell 51-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Canyon Springs' Mekhi Carter, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points and three steals.
