Basketball Recap: Arete Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Crew Oetjen and Harrison Kremer

Arete Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chandler Prep Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the CHARGERS of the 68-64 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Arete Prep had strong showings from Harrison Kremer, who posted 25 points and four steals, and Crew Oetjen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Kremer has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Tolu Jolaogun, who had five points.

Arete Prep's record is now 9-12. As for Chandler Prep, they moved to 2-16 with that win, which also ended their 12-game losing streak.

Arete Prep will face off against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arete Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Chandler Prep, they and Trivium Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
