            Basketball Recap: Muhlenberg County Mustangs vs. McLean County Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Muhlenberg County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were a single  point away from ending the streak, but they lost a  34-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the McLean County Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  47-39  back in December of 2024.

 When it comes to explaining why Muhlenberg County lost, don't look at  Izzy Wilkins. Despite the final result, she  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and 11  boards. Wilkins has been hot recently, having  posted eight or more  rebounds the last four times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Taylor Wilkins, who  posted ten points and seven  boards.
Muhlenberg County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for McLean County, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Muhlenberg County has  already played their next  game (against Evansville Harrison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when  the McLean County Cougars  duke it out with  the Jasper Wildcats at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Jasper will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something McLean County surely won't give up without a fight.
