Softball Recap: Shamokin Area Comes Up Short

Shamokin Area made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Central Columbia, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Indians have suffered since April 15th.

ELIZABETH NYE was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. AUTUMN KEHLER was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Shamokin Area has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Central Columbia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Coming up, Shamokin Area will take on Montoursville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Columbia, they will challenge Loyalsock Township at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
