Section 1 C/D recap October 29, 2013
Albertus Magnus scaled the state rankings by moving to 332 from 388 this week, the biggest jump in Section 1 C/D. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of beating Pawling 34-6.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Rye Neck beat Bronxville 28-10. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Panthers.
LUKE KERN provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Albertus Magnus beat the Tigers. He completed 4 passes for 101 yards and also ran for 40 yards.
Tom Pipolo put up the best numbers in passing as Rye Neck topped the Broncos. He finished with a total of 3 completions for 62 yards and 1 touchdown. Pipolo's favorite target this week was Ryan Morningstar, who caught 2 passes for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of KERN and COREY JEAN-CHARLES, Paul Villanueva's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. KERN is tops in the league in passing with 769 yards, while JEAN-CHARLES has rushed for 924 yards this season. Yonkers Montessori Academy's Robert Atkins leads the league in receiving yards with 389 on 22 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Rye Neck takes on second place Woodlands.

Woodlands was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Section 1 C/D. The Falcons vanquished Dobbs Ferry 39-14 earlier in the week.
