Recap: Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers vs. St. Joseph Cadets

The Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 65-53 to St. Joseph. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bridgeport Central in their matchups with St. Joseph: they've now lost six in a row.

Tj Wright was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals for St. Joseph. Wright has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Febus, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Bridgeport Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for St. Joseph, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridgeport Central will take on Darien at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Darien is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for St. Joseph, they will be playing at home against Ludlowe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Ludlowe is ranked 31st, while St. Joseph is ranked 33rd).
