Preview: St. Pius X Warriors vs. South Bend St. Joseph Indians
The St. Pius X Warriors are on the road again on Saturday and play against the South Bend St. Joseph Indians at 1:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, St. Pius X ended up a good deal behind KIPP Legacy and lost 78-60. While losing is never fun, St. Pius X can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while KIPP Legacy is ranked 49th).
Meanwhile, it was close, but South Bend St. Joseph ultimately received the gift of a 58-55 victory from a begrudging Indianssquad.
South Bend St. Joseph relied on the efforts of Nick Shrewsberry, who scored 15 points, and Jayce Lee, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was Lee's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chase Konieczny, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
St. Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Bend St. Joseph, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
