Springfield took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Limestone, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Senators sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Rockets on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Senators have posted against the Rockets since May 17, 2019.

A.J. Ozier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Springfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Jenkins, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 11-21. As for Limestone, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-13.

Springfield has already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Edwardsville on the 24th. Limestone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
