Basketball Game Preview: Tri-State Christian Huskies vs. Morning Star Academy Mustangs

Tri-State Christian is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Morning Star Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Tri-State Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Morning Star Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Tri-State Christian saw some tournament action last Friday. They walked away with a 54-41 win over Unity Christian.

Tri-State Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Reibling led the charge by going 6-for-7 en route to 14 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Those 14 points gave Reibling a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Smith, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 19 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Morning Star Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 70-40 loss at the hands of Quad Cities Christian on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Tri-State Christian will have to contain David Martin as he made an impact in Morning Star Academy's last game. He went 8-for-19 to rack up 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lawton, who posted eight points.

Tri-State Christian came up short against Morning Star Academy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-58. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
