Softball Recap: Newman International Academy Falls to Pantego Christian in First Game of Season

Newman International Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 15-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pantego Christian Panthers on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

With the victory, Pantego Christian broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newman International Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newman International Academy at 5:00 p.m. on April 3rd. Pantego Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Lubbock Christian at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st.
