Basketball Recap: Claire Swen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wautoma over Nekoosa

Wautoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 46-31 fall against the Nekoosa Papermakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Papermakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-36 back in January.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Claire Swen, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave Swen a new career-high. Maddy Meyer was another key player, putting up ten points.

Wautoma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Nekoosa, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16.

Coming up, Wautoma will square off against Princeton/Green Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nekoosa, they will head out to challenge Bowler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
