Baseball Recap: Vestaburg Takes a Loss

Vestaburg and Carson City-Crystal pushed the score to 17-5 the last time they played Carson City-Crystal, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolverines fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Vestaburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Halgren, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Vestaburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-16-1. As for Carson City-Crystal, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-16 record.

While Vestaburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
