Malad extended their postseason success on Thursday against Orofino. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Maniacs. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Brady Showell made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Carey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Holdyn Higley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Malad's record now sits at 23-6. As for Orofino, with the loss, they broke their 17-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-4.

Malad has already played their next match, an 11-10 win against Nampa Christian on the 16th. As for Orofino, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-2 defeat against Marsing on the 16th.
