Verona faced Kimberly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Papermakers 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for Verona, who have now won six games in a row.

Verona pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those four matches. As for Kimberly, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

Verona didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Divine Savior Holy Angels on the 17th. Kimberly has also already played their next game (against Waunakee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
