Football Recap: Scranton Prep Drops Season-High Score on Delaware Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scranton Prep). They secured a 49-44 W over the Delaware Valley Warriors on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cavaliers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Iuzzolino, who rushed for 195 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. Trey Newton also helped with two TDs in total.

Scranton Prep's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Delaware Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Scranton Prep and Delaware Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Cavaliers will take on Scranton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (99 vs. 278). Meanwhile, Delaware Valley (ranked 95th) will meet Wallenpaupack Area (ranked 341st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
