Recap: Junction City Dragons vs. Walnut Ridge Bobcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Junction City Dragons walked away with it. They came out on top against Walnut Ridge by a score of 63-50 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Junction City who now have six in a row.
Dominique Grimes went supernova for Junction City, rushing for 307 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 74 receiving yards. Montra Hankton also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Walnut Ridge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Enrique Perez, who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Jersie Cunningham was another major influence, as he rushed for 120 yards and ran in a TD.
Junction City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Walnut Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Junction City will face off against Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glen Rose knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Junction City likes a good challenge. Walnut Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
