Football Game Preview: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. Rockwall-Heath Hawks

Two dominant signal callers in Maximus The Great Denson and Prosper Neal are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will take on the Rockwall-Heath Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Duncanville will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Duncanville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Temple as they made off with a 35-14 win. Given the Panthers and Pantherettes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Wildcats are ranked 260th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Duncanville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenton Yancey led the charge by picking up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Ayson Theus, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Rockwall-Heath over Wylie East in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hawks blew the Raiders out of the water with a 52-10 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 28-point advantage.

Rockwall-Heath's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Grant Moravec was especially locked on to Wylie East's QB and sacked him three times. Carson Adams was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Duncanville's record is now 8-1. As for Rockwall-Heath, their record now sits at 8-3.

Everything came up roses for Duncanville against Rockwall-Heath in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 62-24 victory. Will the Panthers and Pantherettes repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
