Softball Recap: Hanna Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Hanna finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the San Benito Greyhounds, falling 19-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Golden Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Hanna has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. The win made it two in a row for San Benito and bumps their season record up to 10-7-1.

Looking ahead, Hanna will welcome Veterans Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.84 runs per game on average), something Hanna will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for San Benito, they will head out on the road to challenge Los Fresnos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
