League recap: Christ Presbyterian Academy extends winning streak with victory over Lewis County

AA District 12 recap December 3, 2013

Christ Presbyterian Academy added to the longest winning streak in AA District 12 this week by beating Lewis County, 36-28. The victory was the 14th in a row for the team.

Page made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,524 from 5,704.

Giles County's dynamic duo of Trevor Holder and Kenton Baker proved tough for Trezevant to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Holder threw for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns and Baker had 101 yards receiving. Cameron Ordway helped Giles County's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 67 yards.

He went 11-19 with 2 interceptions.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Thomas Richard. The Christ Presbyterian Academy star has 66 catches for 1,094 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Alcoa, Zack Weatherly is short just 83 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 21 touchdowns this year, Weatherly has thrown for 1,917 yards with 6 interceptions.

Chance Meier of the Ingle Martin's team is just 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 129 carries Meier has accumulated 914 yard this year.

The Lions led the league in scoring this week by notching 36 points on the Panthers. Max Pressley ran for 90 yards and caught 1 pass for 21 yards during the win.
