While Kaneland's win against LaSalle-Peru wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cavaliers 23-21. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Luke Gadomski threw for 292 yards and one touchdown. Brady Brown was his top target, picking up 107 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, LaSalle-Peru saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marion Persich rushed for 153 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 109 yards on 15 of 27 attempts.

Kaneland's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for LaSalle-Peru, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Kaneland is taking a road trip to challenge Althoff Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LaSalle-Peru, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against O'Fallon at 7:00 p.m. The Cavaliers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
