Volleyball Recap: Portland Comes Up Short

Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Eaton Rapids Greyhounds. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.

Makayla Evansen paced Portland's offense, picking up four kills. Evansen were helped by Allie Sutberry and Ana Babcock, who contributed six assists each. Babcock was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 18-18-5. As for Eaton Rapids, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-9-4 record this season.
