Baseball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell fell victim to Clearwater Central Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Mitchell got a good showing from Cade Vermillion, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Mitchell will venture away from home to challenge Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will take on St. Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
