Softball Recap: Colony Comes Up Short

Colony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Patriot Warriors. Even if the Titans couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Cyan Cruz(2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gisella De Los Santos(2025), who went 2-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI.

Colony's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Patriot, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Colony will challenge South Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Patriot, they will take on Rubidoux at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.87 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
