Normal University is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since April 19, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Rochester by a score of 3-1. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Makenzie Post spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Normal University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meera Sundaram, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tremont and Heyworth, and Tremont kept the tradition alive. The Turks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Hornets on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Turks in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won seven in a row.
Maddie Feagin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ivy Stuber was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Lilly Elston was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
Tremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Tremont's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Normal University, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
