Basketball Game Preview: Gilpin County Eagles vs. Peyton Panthers

Gilpin County hasn't had much luck against Peyton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Gilpin County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Gilpin County not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st (when they won 61-18). They breezed past Conifer to the tune of 54-19.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Peyton and Limon meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Panthers made off with a 41-40 win over the Badgers.

Peyton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gilpin County, their record now sits at 3-0.

Gilpin County couldn't quite get it done against Peyton when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 44-34. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
