Basketball Recap: LEAD Academy Takes a Loss

LEAD Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-18 loss at the hands of the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-13.

Pearl-Cohn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rileigh Miller, who shot 88% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. That's the most points Miller has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Valencia Hailey, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points.

LEAD Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Pearl-Cohn, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

LEAD Academy has already played their next matchup (against Stratford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pearl-Cohn also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against KIPP Nashville Collegiate.
