Baseball Recap: Gadsden Takes a Loss

Gadsden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to the Mayfield Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 13-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Gadsden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Romero, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Gadsden's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Mayfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9-1 record this season.

While Gadsden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
