Arvada West faced Castle View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Sabercats. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Their offense was headlined by Evan Kabat and Michael Salazar, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Kei Martin and his 25 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Castle View lost, don't look at Talus Frederick. Despite the final result, he had 14 digs.

Arvada West's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Castle View, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
