AAAA Region 6 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances in games played on Thursday and Friday (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Aedan Mccarthy Dazzles in Bluffton Victory

Starting off the list is Bluffton's Aedan Mccarthy, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Mccarthy threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 56 yards.

The win was the third in a row for Bluffton, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Mccarthy and Bluffton will venture away from home to square off against Bishop England at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mahoney Came Up Big in Bishop England's 31-14 Victory

Bishop England found a leader in Quinn Mahoney as the team took down Beaufort on Friday. Mahoney did his part (and then some), throwing for 192 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 45 yards for the 'W'.

Bishop England's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Mahoney and Bishop England will be playing at home against Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Carnell Warren Makes It Two for Bluffton

The second Bluffton player making an appearance here is Carnell Warren, and for good reason. He picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 68 yards.

Unfortunately for Colleton County, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Warren. When Warren last faced the Cougars back in October of 2023, he picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jacobi Saunders Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Bluffton got the W thanks in part to Jacobi Saunders playing the best football he has all season. Saunders forced two fumbles and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). The performance also marked the most rushing yards (three) he has had since back in November of 2023. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

On the year, Saunders has averaged 7.7 total tackles per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.29 total tackles per game.

Thaddeus Czarnecki Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Thaddeus Czarnecki of Hilton Head Island. Czarnecki rushed for 74 yards on only nine carries.

For the year, Czarnecki has averaged 66 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 24.83 rushing yards per game.
