Basketball Recap: Old Orchard Beach Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Old Orchard Beach and Dirigo squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Old Orchard Beach had to settle for second. They fell 60-52 to the Dirigo Cougars. If the Seagulls were looking for revenge after losing 51-44 to them when the teams met back in February of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Old Orchard Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Dirigo, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Old Orchard Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dirigo, they will square off against Mount Abram at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Mount Abram's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
