Softball Recap: Palisades Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Palisades was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Karlye Teman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Catie Russo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Palisades' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Northwestern Lehigh, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Palisades didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-5 win against Bangor on the 17th. Northwestern Lehigh has also already played their next contest (against Kutztown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
