Basketball Recap: Archie Takes a Loss

Archie lost a heartbreaker to Crest Ridge when they met back in January of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Archie Whirlwinds lost 72-52 to the Crest Ridge Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Whirlwinds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Cougars are ranked 240th).

Archie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Crest Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archie will venture away from home to square off against Osceola at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Crest Ridge, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Orrick at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th.
