Softball Recap: Penn Treaty Takes a Loss

Penn Treaty had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it four. They lost 16-1 to the Thomas A. Edison Owls. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 16-9 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Thomas A. Edison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games.

For Thomas A. Edison's part, Omalis Rivera was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Sheana Hawkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
