Basketball Recap: Cathedral Catholic's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Cathedral Catholic hadn't done well against Rancho Bernardo recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cathedral Catholic Dons walked away with a 39-32 win over the Rancho Bernardo Broncos. The 39-point effort marked the Dons' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Cathedral Catholic to victory were Mckinnley Hanlon and Maddie Moeller. Hanlon went 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds, while Moeller posted 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Hanlon's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Fultz, who put up five points and nine rebounds.

Cathedral Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Rancho Bernardo lost, don't look at Lindsay Biddle. Despite the final result, she had 16 points. Biddle is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. As for Rancho Bernardo, they moved to 8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Cathedral Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-40 win against La Costa Canyon on the 11th. As for Rancho Bernardo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-22 victory against Sage Creek on the 10th.
