Preview: Midwest City vs. Bixby

Midwest City and Bixby have both accumulated a number of blowout victories this season (Midwest City has six and Bixby has four), so it will be interesting to see how that plays out when they meet this Saturday at 1:00 PM. Midwest City crushed Page last week, winning 47 - 12. As for Bixby, it took its game against Stillwater by a confident 41 - 14 score.

Midwest City got an early lead and maintained it, starting each quarter with an advantage. It was already ahead 34 - 0 by the end of the half, putting Page too far behind. The win bumped Midwest City's record up to 10-1.

Meanwhile, Bixby was expected to win its matchup, but the MaxPreps state rankings did not forecast such a considerable margin. It especially relied on senior Staton King, who rushed for 56 yards and threw for three touchdowns, and senior Tucker Pawley, who earned one touchdown and 134 yards rushing the ball. Senior Coby Tillman offered Bixby additional support, laying down the law -- and the quarterback -- with three sacks. Tillman also made away with 17 tackles. The win got Bixby up to 7-4.

With both Midwest City and Bixby swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll see which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
