Preview: Golden Demons vs. Evergreen Cougars
Golden is 2-8 against Evergreen since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Golden Demons will head out on the road to challenge the Evergreen Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Golden scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Alameda at home to the tune of 78-7. That 71 points margin sets a new team best for Golden this season.
Meanwhile, Evergreen was able to grind out a solid victory over Dakota Ridge on Friday, taking the game 46-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Evergreen.
Addison McEvers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tatum Buenning, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
The win got Golden back to even at 7-7. As for Evergreen, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4.
Golden took their victory against Evergreen in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 54-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Golden since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
